Huron Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health facility in a quiet semi-rural corner of Bad Axe, Michigan, that provides mental health services and treatment for co-occurring substance use disorders. They’re a member of the Mid-State Health Network, which is an alliance of community and mental health agencies. They are also accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children.

They provide crisis intervention services including a crisis line, assessment, and direct therapy. Psychiatric evaluations are performed face to face and health assessments are available by a nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or dietitian. Your program may include psychological testing and treatment planning to provide you with a comprehensive and customized approach. They provide referrals to community resources to support your mental health and substance use disorder recovery.

Substance abuse is addressed using staged based interventions for individuals who may not meet the threshold of substance abuse or addiction but are still experiencing social impairment. Targeted case management helps guide your treatment and aftercare planning, and family support and training are provided if you are experiencing a serious mental illness that is affecting the family unit.

Programs include skill building, behavioral health treatment, and medication administration of prescribed medications. They also have an Enhanced Pharmacy for non-prescription items. That way, should you need any medical supplies, you won’t have to worry about running out.

Most of the provided services are covered by Healthy Michigan and Medicaid insurances.
