About Humphrey House
Humphrey House is a transitional residential facility for teens that’s part of the Guidance Center, a mental health community resource in Hobbs, New Mexico. It is one of several facilities managed across the state within the Guidance Center (GC) network. In addition to substance abuse support, Humphrey House also provides care for people with behavioral, emotional or developmental concerns such as teen pregnancies and more severe autism.
GC and Humphrey House work on a sliding scale basis where household income and family size determine costs. A patient advocate can provide details regarding accepted insurance plans.
A Multifaceted Approach
While Humphrey House is an inpatient residential program, GC also offers an outpatient program geared for adults, children and teens. Teens and adults can access substance abuse treatments and even recovery and aftercare support. I like that the therapeutic services are offered in individual, family or group sessions.
Dual Diagnosis
Because GC provides comprehensive mental health care, I like that it offers a range of treatment solutions. If you’re managing substance use disorders this can include intensive outpatient therapy and even medication management for co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
Preparing for Sobriety
In preparation of sobriety, GC also provides psychosocial rehabilitation services (PSR) for people with mental illness. I like that this includes programming that teaches living skills, individual empowerment and psychosocial skills.
