About Human Supports of Idaho

Human Supports of Idaho knows that struggling with substance use can make life feel overwhelming. Whether it’s alcohol or drugs, ongoing use can lead to serious issues with health, work, school and relationships. If this sounds like you or someone you care about, you don’t have to figure it out alone. The program offers different levels of care from outpatient to more intensive support to help people get on the path to recovery. They’re located in a suburban corner of Boise, Idaho, and offer outpatient care.

Support in Your Hometown

One thing I like is how many options they give their clients. People can do one-on-one counseling, group therapy, or both. There’s also support for early recovery, relapse prevention, and managing stress and anger. If legal issues are involved, they offer DUI evaluations, probation officer reports and drug testing. And if someone needs a specific type of group that isn’t offered, they’re open to starting new ones.

Individual counseling is a chance to talk with a therapist in a safe space. It’s focused on building confidence, coping skills and providing a sort of emotional balance. Therapists specialize in things like trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, domestic violence, and life transitions so you’re covered for whatever you need. Couples counseling helps partners communicate better and work through trust issues, stress, and other challenges. Family counseling gives families tools to handle major life changes, addiction, and behavioral concerns in kids and teens.

They also offer medication management, which includes evaluations, prescriptions and monitoring. Another cool option is community based rehabilitation, where people get hands-on help learning skills like budgeting, problem solving and keeping healthy relationships.

Cracking the Case

Case managers help with real-life challenges like finding housing, medical care and jobs. There’s also peer support, where people who’ve been through similar struggles offer guidance and encouragement.
