About Hope Haven, Inc.
Hope Haven, Inc. is a faith based nonprofit organization in Rock Valley, Iowa, that provides disability services and mental health recovery support throughout Iowa and Minnesota. The organization offers intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, peer support services, community living assistance, employment support and day habilitation for individuals with mental, physical, intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.
Hope Haven combines research supported mental health care with community integration programs to help participants strengthen independence, wellness and overall quality of life.
Mental Health Recovery Through Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Hope Haven’s primary mental health program is intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, a structured service for adults living with serious mental illness. I like that participants can attend group sessions twice each week, lasting three to four hours and individual sessions once per week for one hour. These sessions focus on developing coping skills, managing symptoms and working toward personal recovery goals.
The program follows a structured curriculum that addresses psychiatric challenges while providing practical tools for daily living. Sessions emphasize skill development, symptom management and connections to community resources. Treatment plans are adapted to reflect each person’s strengths, needs and long term objectives.
Peer Support and Community Based Mental Health Care
Hope Haven’s Peer Support Services connect adults with trained peer specialists who have personal experience with mental health recovery. I like that the specialists provide individual support in home and community settings for up to three hours per month.
Peer mentors help participants strengthen coping strategies, expand support networks and navigate daily challenges. This approach allows individuals to receive encouragement and guidance from someone who understands their experiences firsthand.
