About Hooper Detox Stabilization Center

The Hooper Detoxification Stabilization Center in Portland, Oregon, offers care that is compassionate to people coming off of substances such as drugs and alcohol. Insurance is accepted, and they accept self pay. You will not be turned away for lacking insurance or inability to pay.

I like that most of their staff are in recovery themselves. They are able to relate to you as they themselves have gone through the early stages of withdrawal and stabilization.

You’ll be accepted into the program based on the severity of your needs and their capacity. They do not accept people on a first come first serve basis.

Their inpatient program runs a 24/7 withdrawal management and stabilization service. You will also have 24-hour nurse support. They understand the complex needs of those who are pregnant, have high blood pressure and are managing diabetes.

I like that they screen for infectious diseases. You will also be screened for HIV, Hepatitis B and C. If you test positive, they will be able to coordinate care for you.

The typical length of stay is between three and eight days. They provide you with your basic needs such as shoes, clothes, hygiene kits, bedding and towels. You will also be provided with nutritional snacks and meals.

They will conduct medical and social assessments. You will attend daily educational groups and watch videos. In the evenings you’ll attend recovery support meetings.

Medication assisted treatment is offered via Suboxone. They provide care for clients who are on methadone who have additional substance withdrawal needs. After discharge, they are able to coordinate outpatient treatment.
