About Helping Ourselves Pursue Enrichment Nueva Luz Center

Helping Ourselves Pursue Enrichment (HOPE) is a peer run mental illness support and drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Tucson, Arizona, just a short distance from Himmel Park. HOPE's peer run program is overseen by staff who have experienced mental illness and substance use and bring their experience to clients through professional and effective treatment. Services include outpatient treatment, one on one therapy, group therapy, coping and life skill education, case management services, education services, employment support, and after crisis care.

Specialized services offered by HOPE include those offered to those in the criminal justice system, including HEAT (hospitality empowerment accountability treatment), moral reconation therapy (MRT), and supportive treatment and engagement program (STEPS). These programs are designed to assess the needs of clients, provide support that addresses their unique concerns, and divert repeating criminal behavior as a means to support ongoing rehabilitation.
