Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network

The Dean Maberry Clinic of the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network (HOTBHN) offers mental health treatment and medication management. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, and receive grant money that pays for clients who need assistance. It’s based in Waco, Texas.

Psychiatric and Care

Psychiatric medical services provide clients with psychiatry appointments, medical monitoring with nurse practitioners and registered nurses, pharmacy assistants for distribution of medications, and other staff. Clients undergo a crisis assessment regularly.

For those prescribed medication, they’ll receive assistance in finding a pharmacy assistant program. Mental health outpatient services provide counseling, skills training, and psychosocial rehabilitation for behavioral health issues. Clients with depression are treated using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and those with trauma issues are treated with cognitive processing therapy.

Mental health case management plans, coordinates and monitors services for all clients. Case managers determine the best treatment plan for each client while connecting clients to community resources for needed help. We know that not having physical needs met commonly leads to depression and anxiety.

Referrals for Substance Use Treatment

If you have a co-occurring substance use disorder, the clinic will refer you to the Austin avenue HOTBHN location. I know that substance users often find themselves unemployed. The center helps clients with SUDS to find employment and will reach out to employers who are willing to hire a client with a history of substance use.
