OSAR to New Heights
The Angleton facility is at the edge of town. It’s not too far from the Angleton Recreation Center and Lakeside Park. You cab unwind and de-stress through exercise and being immersed in nature. If you want to drive out for a bit, they’re only 20 miles from the quaint village of Surfside Beach. The beach is the perfect place for a mental retreat with its four miles of pristine nature, recreational sports, and natural beauty.
One service I noticed is Outreach, Screening, Assessment, and Referral (OSAR). The program provides an assessment that determines what level of substance use services would be most appropriate based on an individual’s unique circumstances.
Substance use disorder treatment includes inpatient, outpatient, and peer recovery coaching programs. This location offers a virtual screening over the phone or video for your convenience.
The residential programs available are in Brazoria and Galveston counties and include a treatment program for 30 days. The Signals of Sobriety inpatient treatment program is for clients who are uninsured or aren’t able to pay for services.
Meeting Your Needs in Brazoria County
The Angleton location offers comprehensive outpatient services with individualized treatment plans. One thing I like about this program is that it addresses mental health and substance use within the context of spirituality and relationships.
This unique outpatient program assists clients in building a community network and sober support. Additionally, clients can get help with housing. The program lets you work around your schedule with morning or evening sessions, and individual sessions can be done virtually.
Appointments are offered on the same day or next. There are also walk in options. Mental health services include case management, education and skills training, therapy, drug and alcohol treatment, and physical care.
