Located in Victoria, Texas, Gulf Bend Mental Health is an outpatient behavioral health clinic. Here you’ll find outpatient services for substance abuse, mental health disorders, and for the developmentally disabled. Substance abuse treatment includes counseling and medication assisted therapy (MAT), as well as connections to community resources. Specialized support services are available for veterans and adolescents. Gulf Bend can also provide crisis intervention and mental health first aid.
Outpatient (OP) addiction treatment at Gulf Bend uses a holistic approach with individual and group therapy, plus medication management. The goals of this program include learning healthy coping skills and receiving support and education. You’ll be connected to other social services like financial help and housing assistance. If you have any uncomfortable mental health symptoms, you’ll receive psychiatric support and skills training to reduce those.
Gulf Bend’s smoking cessation program can educate you on the dangers of smoking and help you learn a variety of quitting skills. For this program you’ll receive a tobacco assessment, group and individual counseling, and nicotine replacement therapy. You’ll also learn about your personal smoking triggers.
Crisis intervention is provided as an alternative to incarceration or hospitalization. Crisis care includes substance abuse planning and safety planning. During treatment you’ll learn how to better manage systems and stress. They’ll also provide training and support for caregivers.
I love that this facility provides services in both English and Spanish.
