About Guidance Center of Lea County

Serving Lea County in Hobbs, New Mexico, the Guidance Center is a behavioral health clinic providing outpatient and community based wellness solutions. They have intensive outpatient (IOP) therapy, substance use treatment, recovery aftercare services and assessments. They also offer community support services, medication management and peer support services.

Their LEAD program is set up to help individuals who are engaging in problematic and non-violent substance abuse related behaviors connect with treatment. During a crisis, a police officer uses their authority to divert individuals suspected of low level crimes to a harm reduction intervention instead of incarceration.

The medication clinic can manage your medication and applies a mind, body and wellness philosophy to your counseling sessions. These sessions will help you develop coping skills to live a healthy lifestyle.

Community based intervention and reunification services address parent child interactions and aim to improve children’s safety. They also offer parenting classes, domestic violence education and support for women’s empowerment. High fidelity wraparound services are provided to families who want their existing services to be more effective. Family peer support services provide family coaching and effective relationship skills between family members.

Other services offered at the Guidance Center include transitional living for young adults, psychosocial rehab for adults with severe mental illness and autism clinics for kids.

A former client said this is a great place to talk to someone confidentially about emotional conflict. Another person said services at the Guidance Center helped her get her life back, find a job and secure housing for her family.
