About Granite Recovery Center

Granite Recovery Centers Salem in Salem, New Hampshire, offers an outpatient treatment program called New Freedom Academy. The organization also has multiple other locations across New England that offer programs that blend 12 Step education with clinical therapies. Clients can get medical detox, residential treatment, sober living, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and medication assisted treatment. Granite Recovery accepts most insurance plans like Optum, United Healthcare and Tufts Health Plan. They have earned a seal of approval from CARF.

Their intensive outpatient level of care gives clients 10 to 12 hours of both group and individual therapy each week. You’ll also take part in 12 Step programming as part of your treatment. I like that they offer IOP sessions in person as well as online. The length of the program can vary, but the average is between 12 and 16 weeks. After this, you’ll step down to outpatient care which reduces the number of hours you spend in treatment per week.

Peer to peer sessions give you a chance to talk about your experiences with people who understand. Principles of honesty, acceptance and humility are core tenants of the program. You’ll also learn how to prevent relapse, deal with stress in healthy ways and develop new skills.

In-person IOP clients will attend three group sessions a day, three times a week during the morning. You’ll be served breakfast and lunch during the program.

Granite Recovery has an extensive alumni program. This service gives you access to peer support, regular check-ins, events and sober activities, mentorship and ongoing education and access to resources.
