About Gosnold at Miller House – Closed

Gosnold at Miller House Extended Residential for Men was a setting for men in Falmouth, Massachusetts who were seeking recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). This residential program is permanently closed, although Gosnold does have several other facilities in the area that are still open.

It was located near Wood Hole, a picturesque village known for its marine science institutions and beauty. Falmouth Beaches offer serene settings conducive for relaxation and reflecting. There’s also Shining Sea Bikeway, an amazing bike path that runs along the coast, providing opportunities for outdoor reflection.

Numerous Payment Methods for Extended Care

When in operation, the program accepted self payments. Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance were accepted as well. They also welcomed state financed health insurance plans other than Medicaid, military insurance such as TRICARE, and federal or other government funding for substance use programs. We like all of the ways they made services available.

Extended Support Beyond Traditional Rehab

We like that the facility offered both extended care and acute services. Their extended care residential program for men included individual and group counseling services and recovery management strategies. They provided life skills training which was useful for navigating career development and interpersonal relationships.

Their addiction education and relapse prevention was great for teaching you how SUD develops and how to overcome it. Length of stay ranged from 60 to 90 days.

Clinical stabilization services offered acute rehabilitation services for SUD too with personalized treatment plans and many ancillary services like health education, meditation and mindfulness, and thorough planning assistance for longer term supportive services.

Rec Room & Activities

Recreational therapy uniquely combines therapeutic interventions with an activity, like horse-riding, hiking, wilderness therapy, basketball, tennis, or a full workout. Benefits of recreational therapy include providing a healthy way to work through the emotions of recovery, learning to build and maintain relationships, improving communication skills, and building self-esteem.
