About Gaudenzia Vantage

Gaudenzia Vantage is one of four women’s residential recovery programs operated by Gaudenzia in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They boast a total of over 180 programs at 105 facilities across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC. They provide recovery services for individuals and families affected by substance misuse, mental health issues and co-occurring disorders. Their services foster improved quality of life and a renewed sense of purpose among residents of the community they serve.

Recovery for Moms and Children

Gaudenzia Vantage provides long-term residential services for pregnant and parenting women struggling with substance use issues and co-occurring disorders. What stands out to me about this program is that they allow moms to bring up to two children with them to treatment. These kids live onsite with their moms. School-age kids go to school in the local School District of Lancaster while infants and preschool kids are cared for onsite at the Gaudenzia childcare. The program even includes prevention components for children of residents.

This can make Gaudenzia Vantage an effective residential program in Lancaster County. Fewer women get into recovery because of concerns about leaving their kids in an unsafe place. I appreciate that Gaudenzia Vantage eliminates this inherent barrier for women seeking recovery. It offers them a safe space to heal all while caring for their children during the program.

Recovery in Downtown Lancaster

The facility is situated in the downtown area. The US Route 30 and state route 283 link the address to other cities. Public transportation is available and accessible here. The RRTA runs a bus service with many stops close to King Street where the facility sits. Lancaster Amtrak Station is within a mile radius as well for connection to nearby cities.
