About Gateway Foundation
Located in Swansea, Illinois, is the Gateway Foundation outpatient facility, offering extensive treatment options to people struggling with substance use disorder. Previous clients describe the environment as compassionate and non-judgemental, with staff providing support right through the recovery journey. I think it’s great that The Gateway Foundation offers evidence-based approaches to outpatient treatment in all of its locations, to help clients manage their addiction symptoms, no matter their severity.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Swansea, Illinois
As substance use disorder often goes hand in hand with other mental health conditions, like depression or anxiety, I appreciate that The Gateway Foundation specializes in the treatment of a dual diagnosis. They help clients determine the relationship between the disorders and use various approaches to treat them simultaneously, improving the chances of a successful recovery. Treatment is tailored to a client’s unique needs. Care plans may include individual and group therapy, medication management in cases of opioid addiction, and DUI classes for clients who need to complete court-mandated hours.
Mindfulness-Based Treatment
One of my favorite services at Gateway is mindfulness-based sobriety. While other methods of addressing addiction often focus on the future or the past, mindfulness-based sobriety focuses on the present. Clients learn techniques to help them stay in the present to stop them from ruminating on the past or worrying about the future.
