About Gateway Foundation
The Gateway Foundation has a center located in Carbondale, Illinois. The organization is accredited by The Joint Commission. They’re also members of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. They provide inpatient (IP) treatment programs for drug and alcohol abuse for adults.
They do accept insurance. You can pay out of pocket as well. Using your insurance will be cheaper than paying the out of pocket daily fee.
The center is on 14 acres of quiet wooded area. I like that you will have a quiet space to work on your recovery.
When you arrive for treatment, you will do an intake assessment. They’re going to ask you questions about your medical history, drug use and your current situation. These questions will help them develop your individualized treatment plan. Your treatment plan will be created based on your needs.
They have a program called Her Story - A Woman’s Path to Recovery. This program is for women only. It is in an intimate facility with 12 beds. It was developed to support women who are struggling with addiction and trauma.
They provide you with a safe space so that you can transform your pain. You will address substance use disorders, trauma and co-occurring mental health issues. There’s also a gym and a full kitchen.
You will receive individual and family therapy. I like that they offer movement therapy and exercise. You will also receive education on your nutrition. You may also have dialectical (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and/or motivational interviewing (MI) in your treatment plan.
