About Friendship House

The next time you’re walking the historic streets of Scranton, Pennsylvania, be on the lookout for Friendship House. The goal of this organization is to help individuals of all ages overcome the challenges in their lives, including substance abuse, through whole person care. Their programs go beyond addressing immediate symptoms to improve your overall well being and support your continued independence and lifestyle.

Mental Health, Primary Care and SUD Treatment

Recognizing that all sides of your health are intrinsically linked and that addressing all aspects of your wellbeing will strengthen your substance use disorder recovery is important, but it isn’t always easy to get that care. The teams at Friendship House specialize in three key areas including behavioral health, addiction, and primary care. This way you can have all three addressed in one location. I love the convenience of this approach and how it removes major hurdles like scheduling and travel.

Hand in Hand Support from Peers in Recovery

Friendship House also operates a peer support program, an option that expands your support network by connecting you with others who have faced their own SUD and mental health issues in the past. Participants help one another by providing sympathy and encouragement. I also like how these peer based programs can meet your social needs in recovery, too.

Addiction Treatment Programs
