About Four Oaks Family and Childrens Services

Four Oaks is located on Kirkwood Boulevard southwest in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They provide child behavioral health services to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders.

They are located close to I-380 and Route 30 for easy transportation to and from your child’s treatment. You can also access restaurants, local businesses and hotels nearby. I think it’s great that they are also close to natural landmarks including Indian Creek Nature Center, the Cedar River and Bever Park.

Inpatient and Outpatient Residential Treatment for Children

At Four Oaks they provide both in-patient and outpatient services for children struggling with co-occurring disorders. They focus on providing one-on-one counseling services, family and group therapy services and life skills counseling.

Functional Family Therapy Program at Home

I find it encouraging that they also offer a functional family therapy program to provide therapeutic intervention services for at-risk youth. Therapy is offered to your entire family and is often provided at your residence to provide a more familiar and comfortable setting for treatment.

FFT helps in decreasing negative behavior patterns and addressing family dysfunction like resolving stuck conflicts. It also helps in improving communication among your family members and encourages positive behavioral changes.
