Situated just west of downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, in the small neighborhood of Amherst is The Florence Crittenton Agency. This is a behavioral health and drug rehab facility that serves teens who are experiencing struggles with their mental health or have a co-occurring substance use disorder.

Their spacious campus sits on 26 acres and has served the greater region for over four decades. On this campus, you’ll find both outpatient and residential programs. There is even an academic program for middle and high school students.

As an educator, I appreciate that this organization also incorporates education into recovery plans through its New Pathways Academy. There is also GED prep so that you gain the skills you need to pursue your education after treatment or go on to obtain gainful employment.
