About Family Service League

Family Service League is a behavioral health provider that was founded in Long Island in 1926 with a satellite mental health clinic in Mattituck, New York. Throughout the network, roughly 60,000 Long Islanders receive behavioral health care including substance use disorder (SUD) treatment as well as support connecting to essential social services. They offer over 60 social service programs throughout the various locations to support the region’s most vulnerable populations.

They accept Medicaid, Medicare and many private insurance providers. Additionally, there is a sliding fee scale based on demonstrated need.

Supportive Behavioral Health Services

The Mattituck Mental Health Clinic focuses more on behavioral health concerns such as managing depression, anxiety or other diagnosed conditions. I found that if you’re receiving outpatient addiction care at an alternate Family Service League facility, the Mattituck location can provide dual diagnosis support since there are licensed staff who can offer medication management for disorders that might contribute to your addiction.

Addiction Services Throughout Long Island

Although the Mattituck location doesn’t directly provide SUD services for active addiction, there are several other locations within their network that do. For example, the Addiction Direction and Management (ADAM) program works to offer crisis management that includes at home assessments for referrals to both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.

Immediate Care When You Need It

Another feature I liked about this organization is that many of the network’s SUD services center around mobile and crisis support. For example, the mobile crisis team provides round the clock access to care as needed to help stabilize individuals struggling with active addiction. Similarly, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in Riverhead focuses on trauma informed care with easy access to services.
