About Family First Adolescent Services
Family First Adolescent Services is a Joint Commission and NAATP accredited treatment facility located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. They offer residential treatment to boys between the ages of 13 and 18 who are struggling with substance abuse and mental health conditions. They have a variety of amenities including a cross fit gym and an adventure therapy campus. They utilize a multitude of different therapies including equine, experiential and holistic. Other services available here include medication management, psychiatric care and individualized treatment planning. They work with a variety of in and out of network providers and offer flexible payment options.
What sticks out to me the most is their experiential therapy that includes kayaking, deep-sea fishing, indoor skydiving, rope course adventure, animal sanctuary visits, surfing and paddle boarding. This can help rebuild confidence, encourage emotional expression, increase self awareness and develop rational decision making skills. Experiential therapy helps your child learn to have fun, build community and learn to prioritize self care.
Equine therapy, which is also known as horse therapy, helps encourage your child to develop communication skills, take responsibility and practice mindfulness. When working with horses, practicing patience and learning to consider what the horse needs and how to care for them utilizes talk therapy.
