About Families Matter
Families Matter has been serving the Southern New Jersey community in Villas since 2003. Their licensed clinicians and certified behavioral assistants use a wraparound approach to offer counseling and support. This helps families work through personal and relationship challenges. Their suburban location sits on an accessible and peaceful bayside setting near Delaware Bay
This facility offers various services tailored to support mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. Their treatment options for substance use include intensive outpatient programs (IOP), relapse prevention programs and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Specialized treatment and recovery programs are available for youths affected by substance use.
Services are available in both English and Spanish to enhance accessibility. They accept private insurance and Medicaid. A sliding fee scale option is available as well. Their facility is also contracted to provide Employee Assistance Counseling.
Their IOP is suitable if you’re substance dependent or struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental issues. It involves at least nine hours of group education and counseling weekly spread over three days, plus an hour of individual counseling. Family counseling is provided on an as-needed basis. This program focuses on recovery skill building that fosters a sober lifestyle. You can also access psychiatric assessments and medication management to address co-occurring conditions.
You can benefit from their relapse prevention program if you’re no longer “using” but still need support to remain substance free. The relapse prevention group meets two hours a week. It also includes weekly or monthly individual counseling with licensed professionals as necessary.
If you’re struggling with opioid dependence or alcoholism, their MAT program can help you recover from that. They primarily prescribe Vivitrol which is an injectable form of Naltrexone. You’ll first undergo a comprehensive evaluation during intake to ensure eligibility. This is followed by monthly doses. This med helps you manage withdrawal by reducing cravings and minimizing withdrawal symptoms. The program is backed up by individual and group counseling to tackle the psychological aspect of your opioid use.
Their specialized youth program or THRIVE, is an after school initiative involving individual, group and family counseling. This program promotes peer support and mentoring, community engagement, vocational awareness and creative expression. Random urine drug screens are conducted to support accountability and monitor treatment progress. Families Matter collaborates with New Jersey Superior Court, Drug Court and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency to deliver quality care.
