About LifeBridge Community Services

LifeBridge Community Services, formerly known as Fairfield Counseling Services, is a mental health facility located in Fairfield, Connecticut. They treat people for many different types of mental health issues, including substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder, on an outpatient basis.

They have both onsite and online sessions to people of all ages. They take private insurance as well as Medicaid. They also take Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). They have a sliding scale for people without insurance. I was happy to learn that they provide translation services in 82 languages.

The Community Support Program

People with substance use issues are primarily treated through the community support program here. Adults who struggle with addiction can participate in group therapy. They also offer groups for people with other mental health conditions.

I like that they use the Community Resiliency Model, which helps communities and individuals understand trauma. For example, this model will inform educators and parents how to identify stress in kids.

Both education and therapy are available. They teach people about the human nervous system and how stress affects it. They also teach clients to destress by using the Resilient Zone which is a state of well being achieved by performing various exercises and coping mechanisms.

Talk Therapy on a Per-Session Basis

They offer one on one talk therapy to children, families, and adults on a session by session basis so you get exactly what you need when you need it. They provide 30-minute and hour long sessions and use several different evidence-based methodologies.

Art Therapy

I was impressed that they use art therapy here. Sculpting and painting can be a great way to express the emotions that contribute to your addiction and the feelings that you have about your relationship with substances.
