About Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health

The Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health (formerly the Merrifield Center) is the primary addiction medicine clinic for the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB). Located in southwestern Merrifield, Virginia, this clinic provides a number of outpatient treatments for alcohol and substance addictions. As a community service provided by the government, they offer financial assistance based on your household’s ability to pay, and they also accept Medicaid and Medicare as viable insurance options.

Detoxification Services for the Broader Community in the Fairfax Area

A key part of their substance abuse treatment program is providing medication assisted treatment (MAT) to members of the community who need that type of help on their recovery journeys. Along with MAT, their outpatient care also involves individual and group counseling as well as community services and connection to a peer support network. I really admire their commitment to the community, especially considering the fact that CSB also provides detoxification to arrested persons as a diversionary service.

Providing Comprehensive SUD Interventions

The providers here know that addiction treatment can be complicated so they offer counseling to guide patients through the recovery process. Another part of their program that I like is the fact that they can refer a person to a nearby facility if the patient would benefit from services like CSB’s case management or 12 step programs.
