About Exodus Recovery
Exodus Recovery provides chemical dependency and mental health treatment services in multiple locations in Southern California, including at its South Vermont Avenue facility in Los Angeles. The program at this location is for clients ages 26 to 59 and is an intensive outpatient program for seriously mentally ill individuals. This includes both voluntary and involuntary clients.
The program accepts insurance from many health insurance providers, as well as Medicare and Medi-Cal which is California Medicaid. I think it’s great that they offer services regardless of your ability to pay, and some of the programs are funded through public contracts. The North Vermont facility is less than a mile from I-110.
Catering to Addiction and Serious Mental Illness
The treatment staff here caters to adults and older adults with substance use and serious mental health challenges. The staff specializes in treating clients in underserved communities, at-risk populations, and people who are unhoused. One client stated, “The sense you get from this place is that you’re cared for here. They’re [sic] purpose seems to be to be a place of support…”
Community Integration
The multidisciplinary staff includes counselors, peer specialists, social workers, nurses and psychiatrists. I took note that the programs are well integrated with resources within the community to provide continued long term recovery outside the facility after completion of the program.
