About Elliot House
Elliot House is a community clubhouse for people with mental health issues. It is located in Needham, Massachusetts. Clubhouses offer employment and therapy to people with behavioral issues. The services are open to people with co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder (SUD).
Members of the clubhouse are considered to have four basic rights. They have the right to meaningful work, meaningful relationships, a place to come to and a place to return to.
What a Clubhouse Does
The overall goal of a clubhouse is to reintegrate people with mental health issues into normal society. They do this primarily through working and vocational training.
When you join a clubhouse, you will be assigned to a work unit. That unit will be responsible for an element of the daily operations of the clubhouse.
The facility hosts bonding activities such as holiday parties and occasional weekend social activities. You will also have daily meetings with wellness activities offered over the internet. The directors believe that people work better in a supportive environment.
Supportive Workshops
I like the employment workshops they offer. I think it is important for people to know what they want to do and be prepared for interviews well in advance.
The staff will teach you basic computer skills such as email and Microsoft Office. You can also acquire kitchen and maintenance skills at the clubhouse.
They have anonymous 12 Step meetings for substance use disorder. You will also find groups for dual diagnosis.
Addiction Treatment Programs
Each adult program in Massachusetts is designed to help individuals over the age of 18 recover from addiction to drugs or alcohol. The length of the program and its intensity varies, based on the needs of the individual.
For men who want to stop drinking or using drugs, men’s rehab in Massachusetts offers help and hope. These treatment programs, designed specifically for men, help participants recover and rebuild their lives.
Women who are seeking treatment for substance use disorders can receive various levels of care at women’s rehab in Massachusetts. Programs include detox, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), telehealth programs, sober living, outpatient, and aftercare.
Teen and young adult substance abuse can set individuals on a life-long path of destruction. A young adult program in Massachusetts can intervene in young adults’ lives to set them on a better path during this crucial stage of life.
Levels of Care
Massachusetts outpatient rehab does not have a defined timeline. The program is tailored to meet your recovery needs, and may last 90 days or a year or more. During this time, you will attend therapy sessions and support group meetings, for ongoing accountability and development of sober-living skills.
If you meet the diagnostic criteria for two or more conditions, you have a dual diagnosis. Massachusetts dual diagnosis treatment is designed to address both conditions simultaneously, for improved recovery outcomes.
