About Elite Houses of Sober Living

Elite Houses of Sober Living is a 63-bed transitional living facility for adults over 18 recovering from substance use disorder in Chicago, Illinois. This program welcomes ex-offenders, those in the criminal justice system and those experiencing homelessness. To be accepted you must be employed or capable of securing employment. Residency may also be granted to folks who receive social security or unemployment compensation and private or government funding.

Fully Equipped Housing for Comfort

The facility boasts a clean, structured and affordable living environment that inspires healing. The folks at Elite Houses of Sober Living understand that this type of setting is essential for recovery. They strive to fully equip the facility to optimize comfort. The result is a homely and well furnished space conducive to recovery and brotherhood. They have new furniture and beds in each room including full and twin beds. There’s also cable television and a DVD player in each room. Other amenities include a coin operated washer or dryer and a designated smoking area. This is all included in their program fee of $400 monthly or $100 per week.

Sober Living in Chicago

The facility is situated right in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, just a mile east of Hamilton Park. Residents may take advantage of the gym available in this park to exercise during recreational time. The facility is easily reachable via South Racine Avenue and West 71st Street. The CTA Bus Routes serve these streets. The CTA Red Line also has stops nearby.

Men’s Recovery Services

The main goal of this residential care is to guide you toward a life of recovery, personal growth and independence. You’ll benefit from a sharing, caring and loving community of peers. These brothers will provide encouragement and support and keep you accountable. The facility partners with their outpatient treatment center to provide residential counseling. You can expect to attend intensive counseling in both individual and group settings.

Counseling helps you investigate the root causes of your behavioral issues including substance misuse or propensity to engage in criminal behavior. Group counseling particularly lets you practice life skills like managing anger, solving problems, healthy communication and building relationships. These practical skills foster a sober lifestyle and prevent relapse.

The program also incorporates 12 Step practices. So expect to attend self help meetings like AA and NA. You can take advantage of the Southside Alano Club situated six miles east of the facility. They host AA and NA meetings regularly.

Academic and vocational development is an integral component of the program as well. This helps you gain essential skills for personal growth and future employment. You can easily pick up job readiness skills like resume writing, interview techniques, professional communication and time management.

Their wraparound services encompass case management. This may involve linkage to community resources that support your successful reentry to the community. This includes employment opportunities, permanent housing, educational programs and medical care. They may also refer you to their outpatient treatment center in Chicago Heights for ongoing recovery.
