About El Prado House Safe and Sober Living for Women – Closed
El Prado House Safe and Sober Living for Women was a sober living residence located in San Clemente, California. The home services women in early recovery who had already completed detox or a residential drug rehab program and needed a structured place to continue building stability.
Although the facility has closed, it once provided a supportive transitional living environment for women working to maintain sobriety while returning to everyday life in Orange County.
Structured Sober Living for Women in Recovery
Rather than functioning as a detox center or inpatient addiction treatment, El Prado House operated as sober living housing. The women here typically entered the home after completing a higher level of addiction treatment. And I love that their program really focused on accountability and routine.
All the women that stayed were generally required to attend 12 Step meetings and remain engaged in recovery focused activities. Many of the women here participated in outpatient addiction treatment programs while they lived in the house.
Plus, there were daily expectations that women were required to meet while here. They needed to maintain employment, attend school or find ways to volunteer in the community. And while this home was specifically designed for adult women, I’m impressed it also welcomed mothers and pregnant women who were seeking a stable recovery focused living situation.
Amenities
Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.
Recreational therapy uniquely combines therapeutic interventions with an activity, like horse-riding, hiking, wilderness therapy, basketball, tennis, or a full workout. Benefits of recreational therapy include providing a healthy way to work through the emotions of recovery, learning to build and maintain relationships, improving communication skills, and building self-esteem.
Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.
