About Educational Alliance Center for Recovery and Wellness
Educational Alliance Center for Recovery and Wellness is a holistic, strength-based approach to residential and outpatient addiction treatment in New York City, New York. They were originally founded to support Jewish immigrants who arrived on the Lower East Side of New York and for 135 years have been continuing this mission while also serving the community as a whole.
They offer a variety of community programming to address the needs of the community in employment, housing, and education. Addressing these concerns can reduce the potential risks for substance use disorder. They use an integrated and inclusive approach to connect you and your family to effective interventions that are culturally competent and evidence-based.
The Center for Recovery and Wellness is part of the Educational Alliance and is a place where everyone in the community is welcome. You can refer yourself to their residential and outpatient programs, including Project Help which provides a broad range of substance abuse prevention and psychoeducation services to adults, youth, and their families. They collaborate with community programs such as the city-wide Addiction Support Network and they work with the Office of Addiction Services and Support.
They offer outpatient services in Project Contact that provide comprehensive substance abuse treatment, including providing you with the tools you need for long-term recovery. These include psychiatric assessments, individual and group therapies, high quality client centered treatment, and medication management. It’s neat that they’ll set up ambulatory outpatient care at any place to make you feel more comfortable without having you go to them. You can receive treatment in the day or evening to accommodate your school or work programs.
They also offer services to friends and family of the person struggling with a substance use disorder to help them strengthen their communication skills with their loved ones. Other ambulatory services also provide links to community treatment in community-based settings such as shelters, schools, churches, and community centers. Wald Playground and Hamilton Fish Park are close by and can offer you respite when you need to unwind.
