About Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center Forsyth
The Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center (EMCMHC) operates clinics in 17 counties in eastern Montana. One of the locations in Rosebud County is the Forsyth Center, which provides outpatient mental health and substance use treatment. Services include DUI and minor in possession classes and targeted support for veterans.
The EMCMHC accepts Medicaid, Medicare, VA benefits and private insurance plans. For those without coverage there is a sliding fee scale and you may qualify for the Montana Health and Economic Livelihood Partnership (HELP) Program.
Outpatient Treatment at the Forsyth Center
The Forsyth Center provides individual and group therapy for mental health, substance use and co-occurring conditions. They also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) through an arrangement with Frontier Psychiatry.
The veteran’s services stood out to me. The clinic is part of the VA’s Community Care network and is able to take referrals from the VA to treat veterans for mental health and substance use treatment. The Community Care program is an important part of VA treatment because it provides additional options if primary VA locations are too busy to offer timely appointments.
The clinic also delivers assessments and classes related to Minor in Possession and DUI charges. For second and subsequent offenses, the clinic can also provide required treatment services and monitoring.
Case Management and Peer Support
EMCMHC also provides support outside of treatment. They have peer support services available in Rosebud County to give you encouragement and be a resource in times of crisis.
Peers can also connect you to support groups and community resources, as can an EMCMHC case manager. Case management gives you support options for basic needs such as housing, employment and health.
