About East Bay Center
East Bay Center is part of the East Bay Community Action Program. Located in Barrington, Rhode Island, this nonprofit organization provides a range of health and human services. The Recovery Center is a safe and supportive place where individuals can experience peer-recovery. They are not a treatment provider or a 12 Step group but instead offer self-direction and a variety of programs clients can choose to participate in. Best of all, there’s no need to enroll. You can simply show up during open hours to check them out.
Specialized In-Person and Virtual Support
I love how many different groups they have running on any given week. They have a peer-run anxiety support group and a special yoga program that combines the 12 Step program with yoga principles.
They also have a mobile food pantry every month. This is open to the public and allows people to come take what they need. They have a variety of socal events, family support groups, drop-in Naloxone distribution and training and relapse prevention groups. Many of these groups are available on Zoom as well as in person.
Recovery Coaches in Barrington
I like that people who participate in the Recovery Center get one-on-one support from a peer recovery coach. A coach is someone who has been where you’ve been. They have personal experience with addiction or mental illness and can support you as you work on your recovery and growth.
