About Detroit Reentry Center

Detroit Reentry Center was located on the east side of Detroit, Michigan. This detention center housed male inmates and comprised 39 acres of land. It was previously known as Ryan Correctional Facility. Along with prisoners, there were also services available for probationers and parolees. The people staying here had access to a health clinic, outpatient addiction treatment, and housing and food programs. This facility permanently closed on January 9, 2021, citing fewer prisoners.

Men in this facility had access to three levels of substance abuse treatment: residential treatment, advanced substance abuse treatment, and intensive detention reentry program. They also had access to a program called Thinking for a Change and a domestic violence program called Bridges. Men in this facility had access to GED programming and health care. Prisoners who needed dialysis would get treatment here. They would also have access to vocational training.
