Ember Recovery Center

Ember Recovery Center is in Okeechobee, Florida and is a detox and residential inpatient substance use treatment center. They help people with dual diagnosis by providing integrated care for both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. ERC was previously known as Detox of South Florida.

They provide treatment specifically for adults, seniors and veterans and offer dedicated resources and support for first responders and professionals. Private rooms are subject to availability. They are SAMHSA certified and accept most major insurance plans.

Detox to Holistic Recovery in Okeechobee

The detox process usually lasts between 3 and 10 days here. Medications can help keep you comfortable during the process. Since withdrawal symptoms vary from person to person, medication is individualized and you’ll be under the 24 hour supervision of licensed medical professionals.

Once you’ve completed detox, you may move on to their inpatient rehab program. There you’ll have access to counseling and therapy as well as yoga, art therapy and sound meditation for a holistic approach to recovery. I was impressed that each client has their own television, scratch meals prepared by an onsite chef and a rec room with books, games and exercise equipment.

Alumni Programs Keep You Connected

As a member of the Ember Alumni Program, you can take part in activities like bowling, BBQs and paddle boarding to keep you connected to your community. I think it’s helpful that the program also includes aftercare groups, 12 step meetings and social media groups to help you stay supported on your recovery journey.
