About Desert Hills of New Mexico

Desert Hills of New Mexico was located on Sequoia Road NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are now permanently closed. They provided behavioral health services to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.

They were close to Highway 45 and I 40, restaurants and retail stores. They were also close to the Rio Grande, La Ramada, Rio Grande Nature State Park and the Rinoconada Canyon Trail.

Treatment Program Development

When you first arrived at Desert Hills, they would provide you with an evaluation and assessment of your conditions. They would review the effects of your addiction both physically and mentally and discuss with you any effects your conditions have had on work, family, education as well as any legal issues you were facing.

Following your evaluation, they worked with you to create a diagnosis and treatment plan that would help meet your sobriety and wellness goals.

Outpatient Treatment on Evenings and Weekends

Their outpatient treatment program met in a group setting both through telehealth and in-person sessions. I find it good to know that they offered group therapy sessions in both English and Spanish in the evenings and on the weekend.

DUI/DWI Court-Mandated Intervention Program

I like that they also offered an intervention program for those who had been convicted of a DUI/DWI offense. They would work with you and the court system to ensure you completed the court-mandated program you were assigned, which would allow you to avoid jail time. They offered classes to complete the program in both English and Spanish.
