About Daytop Village
Daytop Village is a private, nonprofit addiction treatment network in New Jersey. They had several clinics and residential treatment centers in Morristown. Most have closed, but they still have outpatient programs available in the county Office of Temporary Assistance.
Morristown is known as the military capital of the American Revolution. I really like their historic walkable downtown that’s centered on a 200 year old green. The city offers a mix of modern luxury and Colonial history, making it a highly desirable and affluent suburban community.
Substance Use Treatment with MAT
In 2014, Daytop Village merged with a far larger organization and the names for both organizations were changed to Samaritan Daytop Village. The organization began in the 1960s with drug and alcohol counseling offered to adolescents at St George's Protestant Episcopal Church in New York.
In the Morristown location, clinicians offer intensive outpatient (IOP) care with medication assisted treatment. I saw that these prescriptions can help manage withdrawal pains so that you can commit to therapy. Intensive outpatient counseling may be available to younger adults and even teenagers in specialized programs.
Evidence Based, Trauma Informed Care
The program also uses evidence based practices for effective treatment to ensure your unique needs are met. Daytop staffers engage in a treatment philosophy that includes trauma informed care, recognizing that this has a profound impact on mental and physical health.
Although most New Jersey locations are closed, Daytop continues to remain steadfast in their commitment to improving the lives of individuals facing substance use disorder challenges. They also offer primary health services, housing assistance and the availability of alternative education for children.
