About Day One

Day One is a network for substance use disorder throughout Maine. They service many cities including Portland. They have a lot of programs that can help families of all ages and individuals too. They offer both residential and outpatient programs. The residential program is gender-specific, and it's for adolescents aged 13 to 18.

Day One of Recovery Starts Here

Their outpatient program is really flexible, which I like, and they help adults, adolescents, and families as well. They address mental health issues too, which I think is super important because a lot of times, addiction goes hand in hand with mental health. They even address psychiatric needs that you might have and offer individual and group therapy sessions.

If you need stronger care, they can refer you to their One Day residential centers in New Gloucester or Windham.

A Port in the Storm for Teens

One thing that really stood out to me is their homeless youth program. In collaboration with a nearby teen center in Portland, their program offers safe housing and support for homeless teens as they figure out the best way for them to recover from substance misuse and mental health challenges. You can get all the help you need here under one roof, whether you need long-term residential help or milder help with outpatient care.
