About Crossroads for Women The Pavillons

Crossroads for Women is a nonprofit organization that offers transitional housing programs for women. The organization is based in Albuquerque and helps women who are recently released from incarceration and women who are unhoused, and those with serious mental illness. Their housing program at this location in Los Lunas, New Mexico is The Pavilions, a 26 bed therapeutic home where the focus is on mental health and addiction treatment services. Women can pay for the program using Medicaid.

A Structured Living Environment for Previously Incarcerated Women

The Pavilions program is in Los Lunas with easy access to State Road 6 and I-25. Nearby Riverside Park offers outdoor adventures and activities, including picnic areas, a park trail, and stunning nature trails. You can fish, hike, and relax in nature, which is healing to people in treatment.

The living facility offers on site therapeutic programming in a structured living environment. One of the things I like about this place is the focus on gender responsive, trauma informed treatment services. Many women who have been incarcerated or homeless have suffered trauma and abuse, and the program works to empower women to achieve healthy, fulfilling, and safe lives within their community.

Supporting Women with Holistic Services in Los Lunas, New Mexico

The treatment team offers a holistic approach to treatment. They work to ensure women have the supportive services they need so they’re able to make it after leaving the program. I noticed they offer vocational training, life skills education, and parenting classes to help women beyond treatment. Essentially, they’re your guide to getting your life back on track.

Inclusive Therapeutic Housing

In addition to treating recently incarcerated women, they treat those who may be unhoused or are experiencing a precarious housing situation. They also help women experiencing severe mental illness. It’s worth noting that clients are able to smoke or vape on the property in designated areas.

LGBTQ+ clients, Veterans, and older women are all welcome. Clients are enthusiastic about the treatment they’ve received here. One client described it as an “amazing place!” Another mentioned the “wonderful experience” and offered praise for staff members.
