About Turning Point Community Crisis Residential Program

The Crisis Residential Program at Turning Point in Sacramento, California offers acute, short-term care for adults experiencing mental illness or addiction. The program is designed to serve as an alternative to hospitalization or to help clients step down from high-intensity inpatient care.

Stabilization and Support in a Home-Like Environment

I believe that being able to retreat to an inviting, home-like environment when you’re experiencing a mental health crisis can be tremendously healing. At Turning Point, their crisis residential program is located not in a clinic or a hospital but in a spacious and well-appointed home.

You’ll live with your peers in recovery and you’ll receive round-the-clock support from your care team. Their residence features a fully-equipped kitchen, semi-private rooms, group and individual treatment rooms, and comfortable common areas.

Short-Term Residential Care in Sacramento

Most clients who enroll in the crisis residential program at Turning Point remain for an average of 30 days but your stay may be shorter or longer depending on your needs. During your first days at the residence, your care team will provide the medical and mental health support you need to stabilize in the aftermath of a psychiatric or addiction crisis.

Once you’re on the road to recovery, your team will offer education and counseling to prepare you to reintegrate successfully back into the community. These services may range from job readiness and employment support to training in self-care practices.

I like that you can engage in yoga or meditation, learn about nutrition and healthy meal preparation. Your counselors will help you develop critical coping skills to enable you to better manage stress and anxiety, make sound decisions, regulate your emotions and address unresolved traumas.

Their programs are uniquely designed to help the most vulnerable members of the community, including persons who are or are at risk of becoming homeless.
