About Creedmoor Psychiatric Center Rockaway Adult Home Program Wavecrest

Creedmoor Psychiatric Center’s Rockaway Adult Home Program is a satellite program of Queens Village/Jamaica Wellness and Recovery Center. There are two adult homes in the program, including the Wavecrest home at 242 Beach 20th Street in Far Rockaway, New York. The home serves adults with mental health and substance use disorders. The services are prepaid and based on the needs and eligibility of the clients.

Reintegrating Into Community Life in Far Rockaway, New York

Wavecrest is a residential home for adults with behavioral health issues. I love that the home is in a nice neighborhood with walkability to grocery stores and easy beach access. The adults living in the home receive clinic and case management services.

As an offshoot of the Queens Village/Jamaica Wellness and Recovery Center, the clients participate in group and individual therapy for SUD and mental health issues. Issues may include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or other issues. The clients may participate in family therapy if appropriate.

Physicians and their residents oversee the program and provide medication management and clinic services. I think clients will find that living in a neighborhood home with supportive services is a great way for clients to reintegrate into daily community life.
