About Connection House
Near the main Wesleyan University Campus in Middletown, Connecticut, you’ll find Connection House. It is one of the first halfway houses that The Connection (a community support organization) opened in the state. At this particular house, they offer adult men a safe place in which to start rebuilding their lives after a period of incarceration. This program is offered on referral from the Department of Corrections.
Resource Rich Community Justice Services
In the Connection House, residents are given access to many different types of resources and services to assist them in building new lives with strong foundations. The staff works in tandem with the Corrections Department to provide supervision, which can be key to preventing relapse in those who faced drug charges.
As an organization, The Connection also has a wealth of expertise in providing rehabilitation and psychiatric care services and can extend these same services to Connection House residents. I like that their program includes educational support, vocational training and employment opportunities that can help residents find new sources of responsibility and fulfillment.
Starting A New Chapter In a Great Area
Connection House is close to many of Middletown’s best amenities. There are several restaurants, stores and businesses where residents may find work or just hang out. Harbor Park and the Greater Middletown Military Museum, both of which make for calming and interesting visits, are also close by.
