About Community Works Tecumseh Road

Community Works operates the Norman Cleveland County Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Norman, Oklahoma. This facility has 26 beds and helps youth involved in the Juvenile Justice System by providing them with a structured and safe environment to rehabilitate while they await their court proceedings or placement in long-term care. They treat behavioral health issues such as addiction and mental health conditions, as well as co-occurring conditions.

I was a bit impressed by the depth of their services as it’s quite different from some of the other locations I’ve spoken about. However, I noticed that they don’t accept walk-ins.

Detention Services

They offer secured detention services to ensure the safety and supervision of detained youth. They also provide counseling services including assessments and therapeutic interventions to address behavioral or emotional challenges. I also noticed their educational programs that allow youths to continue learning even while in custody.

Another unique program is their behavioral support and life skills training that helps individuals focus on personal development and conflict resolution, and learn how to make the right decisions in their day-to-day lives.

Additionally, they offer case management and court liaison support in coordination with Juvenile Justice authorities. The facility is licensed by the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs and follows extremely strict professional standards to ensure compliance with the justice system.
