About Community Healthcare Network Crown Heights Health Center

Community Healthcare Network Crown Heights Health Center lies in the bustling streets of Brooklyn, New York. This culturally competent outpatient clinic offers specialized opioid use disorder care and incredible additional services for adults, youth and families.

One amazing feature I noticed was they’ll never deny services. As a Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) they provide quality treatment regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, age or finances. They accept multiple commercial plans as well as Medicaid and Medicare. If you don’t have insurance then you can access payment plans and discounted sliding fees based on your unique situation.

If you’re battling opioid addiction then medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may be beneficial in your recovery journey. They prescribe buprenorphine or naloxone to help you manage the cravings and withdrawal symptoms that can hinder recovery. You’ll benefit from integrated care with private counseling to help you work through the underlying causes of addiction.

What stands out most to me is their emphasis on inclusion. They offer a welcoming and judgment-free space to focus on recovery. Their dedication to meeting you where you are in your journey shines through in many ways. For example they provide in-person care in multiple languages, including English, Haitian Creole and Spanish. You can also access services in over 150 languages with their live phone translation services. You’ll benefit from a space where you feel heard and understood.

Another impressive feature that caught my eye was their additional services. On top of addiction treatment you can get all your healthcare needs in one place. They provide primary care, mental health care, nutrition, wellness, dental, LGBTQ+ care and other support services.

A fantastic honorable mention is their harm reduction services. You and your family can access training to learn how to reverse opioid overdoses with Narcan. They also offer free Narcan kits after completing the training.
