About Community Health of South Florida, Inc. – Doris Ison Health Center

Community Health’s Doris Ison Health Center is located in Miami, Florida. This is a comprehensive care facility that serves adults and children who are experiencing a range of physical or behavioral health challenges, including substance use disorders. You'll find compassionate care through their outpatient treatment program. Emergency crisis stabilization and detox is also available.

They accept policies from those major insurance providers. There also are sliding fee scales that can help reduce your financial burden for services.

When you first seek treatment here, you'll undergo a thorough evaluation to determine what your recovery needs are. From there, you'll be connected to outpatient therapy or more robust services if you require them.

If you have an emergency, you can be eligible for one of 16 beds in their crisis stabilization unit. This can include detox. You'll receive around the clock care as you progress. This is a short-term program only. Your care team will ensure that your withdrawal symptoms are managed safely and in a supportive manner.

When your body is stabilized, you can move into the outpatient care program. Here, you’ll receive robust counseling support. You'll work with addiction counselors in both an individual and group setting. You can participate in cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to build strategies to identify and manage triggers.

I also appreciate that age appropriate care is offered in flexible manners such as the school setting. This helps provide easier access to support.

Men's Rehab

Gender-specific addiction treatment gives men who are struggling with substance use disorders a connection point to other men with similar struggles. This common ground can make a huge impact on men’s rehab in Florida.

Women's Rehab

Often, women who have a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring disorder. Women’s rehab in Florida often addresses both the addiction and mental health disorder with dual diagnosis treatment.
