About Communicare Behavioral Health Clinic Nelson County

Since 1967, Communicare Behavioral Health Clinic Nelson County has served youth and adult residents of Bardstown, Kentucky. This community-based outpatient center offers various behavioral health, mental health, addictio, and intellectual and developmental disability treatment services.

One of the best things I noticed about their program is their affordable care and flexible payment options. They accept many major private insurers, Medicaid and Medicare. Even if you don’t have insurance, you may qualify for a discounted sliding fee scale to meet your needs.

With outpatient care you can live at home and maintain daily responsibilities while attending treatment. They offer chemical dependency assessments to determine if outpatient rehab is the best fit for you. You’ll then benefit from an individualized treatment plan prioritizing your recovery goals and needs.

You can access intensive or standard proven therapeutic interventions to help you get to the root of your addiction and develop coping skills to make better choices. Private, group and family therapy, family counseling, specialized 12-step programming, medication assisted treatment (MAT), aftercare, referrals and more are available.

What stands out most to me is their MAT program. This 18 to 24-month track provides specialized care for people quitting heroin or other opioids. You’ll benefit from FDA-approved medications to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings that can hinder recovery. They complement care with mental health and substance use disorder therapy to help you understand and address the underlying causes of addiction.

Another key element that caught my eye was their targeted case management. You can access multiple support services including connections to resources to aid in your recovery journey.
