About Piedmont Macon
Only about an hour away from Atlanta, Georgia is Piedmont Macon Medical Center. This facility is part of the Piedmont network and operates 24/7 including its emergency and critical care departments as well as a behavioral health department. One thing that stood out to me was that they work closely with Mercer University School of Medicine to help provide opportunities and experiences for medical students.
Accepted are private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE. If you do not have insurance they also accept self payment and financial assistance.
Programs and Services
To say this facility has a lot of programs would be an understatement. Inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient behavioral health, a partial hospitalization program and emergency psychiatric services are only a few of the services offered. This facility also has a substance abuse program that offers pre and post recovery resources.
Facility and Surrounding Area
State of the art equipment, caring staff and peacefulness is what you can expect when you arrive. I really appreciate that the Amerson River Park is a short distance away, because it offers beautiful views, walking trails and multiple wildlife viewing spots that create a tranquil setting to visit between treatment sessions.
