About CMET Counseling Mediation Education and Treatment

Counseling Meditation Education and Treatment (CMET) is an outpatient facility that primarily works with adolescents struggling with both substance abuse and mental health disorders in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It provides both in person and telemedicine options to provide optimal flexibility for people in crisis. There are a range of services offered to improve quality of life and manage behavioral health concerns outside of substance use disorders (SUDs).

Outpatient Care for Adolescents

One key feature I discovered about CMET is that they serve youth between the ages of 12 and 17 of all genders. This age range has specialized needs when it comes to addiction and mental health so it’s impressive that they tailor their treatment to them specifically. In particular, they prioritize dual diagnosis support since often mental illness is a catalyst for substance abuse. Outpatient care is provided with a range of individual and group counseling services offered.

While individual counseling will tackle specific issues identified during your intake process, the group sessions can cover a range of topics. This can include anger management, substance abuse, and even domestic violence and batterer’s intervention programs. Additionally, you can access services in a telemedicine setting for added flexibility.

Broad Behavioral Health Support

CMET doesn’t just focus on SUDs but also integrates mental health care into their offerings. This includes access to psychosocial rehabilitation as well as student intervention prevention services or SIPS. I understand that SIPS is important because it addresses mental and social disorders that can ultimately impact how your child performs academically.

Another key factor is that services are available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, and Creole. CMET accepts private insurance and Medicaid, and provides a sliding scale fee with self pay options.

Private Insurance

Private insurance coverage helps with the cost of alcohol and drug rehab in Florida; however the extent of coverage may depend on your rehab insurance policy and if the treatment center is in their network. You can choose a finance package that lets you start treatment immediately and pay for it later.
