Justice Involved Services in Beautiful Wilder
The justice involved services goal is to reduce the risk of substance use and crime when individuals reenter the community. I like this program because it offers additional support through case management to clients with substance use issues who are reentering the community after incarceration.
Case management services provide stabilization to reduce recidivism. Services include employment assistance, referrals for housing, healthcare, food, clothing, childcare, education, and connection with self help groups and other assistance in other life skills.
There’s an anger management program to help clients learn to avoid engaging in threatening or abusive behavior by managing their emotions. In addition, there’s a domestic violence accountability program to reduce physical and emotional abuse of intimate partners. Another program is the sex offender treatment program to prevent offenders from reoffending.
Trauma Informed Substance Use Disorder Treatment in Vermont
The substance use disorder treatment program is trauma informed and comprehensive. The program addresses not only the client but also the family and others affected by the client’s use. The treatment team identifies clients with co-occurring mental health disorders to develop more customized treatment plans.
The outpatient services include a weekly outpatient adolescent counseling group. The group helps adolescent clients increase their awareness of the impact that using substances has on their lives. The goal is to motivate teens to make healthier decisions in regard to substance use.
Seeking Safety is a gender specific group focused on assisting clients to attain safety in situations involving post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and substance use. The group covers 25 topics related to substance use and trauma.
