House of Grace is a Christian faith-based residential addiction treatment program for adult women and their children in San Jose, California. They also provide resources for recovery from domestic violence and homelessness and have transitional living options for program graduates.
A Yearlong Residential Treatment Program for Women
The House of Grace program lasts for a full year and provides evidence based individual and group counseling. They deliver training in life skills such as building routines, communication and conflict resolution. I saw that the program also includes Bible study and classes in anger management and can fulfill court requirements as a diversion program for nonviolent offenders.
Residents also get access to the City@Work program, which features career counseling and planning, vocational training and financial literacy courses. If you need help getting essential documents, like a birth certificate, driver’s license or ID, or other paperwork the team can help you with that as well.
One element I noticed in the women’s program is the availability of parenting classes and childcare along with a stable, loving environment to help women care for their kids while also attending essential treatment.
I like that there are specific programs for women healing from domestic abuse and those who are pregnant. They provide safe places to live, resources, emotional support and a sense of community.
Transitional Housing For Program Graduates
Once women graduate from the treatment program they have access to CityTeam Forward, which offers residential aftercare services. Residents have stable and affordable housing and are active in the community.
The program also connects women and their children with community resources and social services to help them find work and transition into a permanent living situation where they can live healthy, happy lives.
