CitySide Healthcare

Cityside Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia is closed now. They provided treatment and services for mental health and substance use disorders. They were CARF accredited and HIPAA compliant.

The center offered individual counseling. Clients were able to talk confidentially about life challenges, childhood trauma, and depression and anxiety.

Medication Assisted Treatment

The staff here prescribed and monitored prescriptions for clients diagnosed with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Case management assisted clients in finding resources to provide needed services such as nutrition, medical, mobility, housing, and recovery.

Group Counseling and Specialized Groups

Group counseling was available for clients and their families. Group topics focused on the eight dimensions of wellness which are emotional, financial, social, spiritual, physical, and intellectual.

The center offered groups that specialized in specific topics. Family topics included coparenting, marriage foundations, divorce recovery, and adult responsibility. Emotional topics were anger management, depression, and grief and loss support.

Gender specific groups for youth were the teen girls image and teen boys responsibilities groups. Groups specific to substance use included breaking unhealthy habits, life recovery, radical recovery, and social integrity.

Therapies used included cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, rational emotive behavioral, brief intervention, motivational interviewing, and trauma related.

Monitoring Client’s Physical Wellbeing

Nurses provided services at every client's visit. They monitored the client’s physical issues and wellness. Nurses could conduct examinations and supply interventions for any health issues found.

Advocacy for Students

Providing education advocacy, staff worked with school social workers, teachers, and administrators to provide support for student mental health issues occurring in the school environment.
