About Care campus

Pennington County Care Campus is a comprehensive addiction treatment facility serving urban Rapid City, South Dakota. Here you’ll find detox, DUI classes, intensive outpatient programs, and residential addiction treatment. They also offer treatment needs assessments and crisis and early intervention services. Using a multi disciplinary approach, a team including nurses, physicians, drug and alcohol counselors, and EMTs, can help you and your loved ones heal from addiction.

The intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are for men and women aged 18 and older. They’re held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. These sessions will use the 12 Steps, motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and the matrix model to help treat your addiction. Treatment will help you improve self esteem, develop decision making strategies, and create a community support system.

Detox is managed in a residential setting. The length of stay in this phase is dependent on the severity of withdrawal symptoms. Once you’re stabilized, you’ll move into the day treatment phase. During this treatment phase, you’ll engage in individual, group, and family therapy for around 20 hours per week. In addition to therapy, you’ll engage in 12 Step groups and get a sponsor. If you need a structured living environment, counselors can connect you to a sober living facility within the county.

A 12-hour evidence-based DUI class consists of interactive education involving the risks and consequences of drug use. For this course you’ll use a workbook called Interactive Journaling.

People who’ve received treatment here said that the staff is nice and treats you well. Other former clients said the treatment was somewhat unprofessional.
