About Chrysalis

Near Andrews Lake in Thomasville, Georgia, you’ll find Chrysalis, a facility that provides mental and behavioral health services as a part of the broader array of support services.

Chrysalis is operated by the nonprofit Georgia Pines organization and is guided by their vision of relieving the distress of individuals and families struggling with mental health issues, addictions, or developmental disabilities.

Walking Towards Freedom in Community

One of this facility’s noteworthy services, and one of my favorites, is that they have a peer support recovery program. In this program, they have group sessions covering a variety of topics led by both counselors and peers.

These sessions occur three times per week, and help the group develop communication and self advocacy skills, learn about financial management, healthy stress relief, mental health, and build lasting relationships. In this setting, program members also get an opportunity to inspire others with their journey and to be inspired by others.

A Beautiful Setting for Outpatient Care

Through Chrysalis and their other locations, Georgia Pines provides a comprehensive set of outpatient addiction treatment services in Thomasville. These include detox services, medication assisted treatment, and outpatient addiction counseling and therapy with support for those with dual diagnoses.

The facility is also a short walk from the Thomasville Rose Garden and Remington Park, providing many options for fun and relaxing walks.
